Cacao (kah KOW), is a small evergreen tree that produces flowers and fruit year-round, giving us what we know as chocolate. This out of the ordinary tree, also known as the tree of life, produces fruit not from its branches, but from its trunk. Life is a constant stream of material and what better way of conveying that, than through photography, dialogue, music, and design.
Cacao Films, located in Oakland, California, was founded in late 2005 by then actress Carissa Weir, who wanted to fuse different facets of art. She, at that time, had almost 20 years experience in the business field and 6 years in the acting and film realm, but after finding it hard to leave the set when she wasn't on camera, she decided it was time to discover.
